Driss ELKORCHI is a licensed, English speaking, National tour guide by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism (License 958-99). Driss has been in the business of tourism for more than 20 years. He has and continues to work for several tour companies from all over the world. He has helped hundreds of travelers from around the world have wonderful, unforgettable trips to Morocco.

Driss is a native to the Sahara Desert and was born in 1972 near the highest sand dunes of Merzouga, located in the southeast of Morocco. He led a nomadic life wandering through the desert with his family looking for water and grass for their goats and camels. As a child, Driss loved to discover new places with his family.

A true nomad from birth, Driss was born with the travel spirit! He attended Ibn Zohr University in the city of Agadir.There he earned his PhD in English and American language and literature (1993-1997).

Agadir is Morocco’s premier beach resort and it is frequented by tourists from all over the world. The city formed a perfect backdrop for him to meet visiting foreigners and practice his English. As a student, Driss enjoyed traveling, attending traditional festivals, meeting new people and learning about their cultures.

After graduating from a rigorous one-year training program, Driss was certified as an official national tour guide by the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism in 1999. Since then Driss has been an active professional tour guide based in the fascinating city of Marrakesh. He is eager to share his knowledge of his captivating country with you!

Driss is also a member of many social and cultural associations that fight for the welfare of the inhabitants of his homeland.

The scope of Driss’s guiding is broad. He has led large cultural groups as well as special- interest private tours around every part of Morocco. Driss likes to see things from the eyes of his guests and he prides himself on his ability to add personal touches to every tour that he conducts. It is extremely important to him to turn every guest’s tour of Morocco into an unforgettable experience!
