Activities

Day 1: Arrival- Marrakesh:

Upon arrival, you will receive VIP treatment to assist you in avoiding any unnecessary delays as you proceed through customs and immigration.

Your Private expert guide and driver will welcome you and escort you to your hotel Riad Palais Khum to relax.

You’ll be staying in Deluxe Suite.

When you are ready, begin your journey into this Magical city with a stop in front of the Kotoubia mosque. It’s the landmark of Marrakesh and the 12th century tiled minaret of the Kotoubia mosque went to inspire the architects of the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat

Then, tour the 12th century ramparts that surround the Medina (old town). You end up at the famous Jemma el Fana square. It’s a multitude of street-artists and stalls of dried fruit or orange juice freshly pressed in front of you. The multitude of small restaurants that take over its center from the early evening, contributes to the scent of its surroundings.

Venice, sub Saharan Africa, and Asia

The Jemma El Fana square has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural

Space due to its important role in transmitting oral heritage from one generation to

an other.

If you want you can stop at one of the terraced café that overlooks the square to enjoy sipping your mint tea from the terrace and admire the view before you head back to your riad to relax.

Day 2: Marrakesh/the Cultural Tour:

When you are ready, discover the Mysteries of Marrakesh. Start with the visit to the 19th century Bahia Palace and the ruins of the 16th century Badi Palace.

Later, visit the 16th century Mellah (Jewish Quarter) which was home of a thriving community of native and Spanish Jews, famous for their rabbinical schools and scholars. Visit the Rabbi Hanania Hacohen Jewish cemetery which is also the burial place of Rabbi Mordekhai Ben Attar and Rabbi Pinhas Hacohen Azoug known as the "Patron of Marrakech”. Then visit the Lazama Synagogue that was built in 1492.

After lunch on your own, explore the colorful Souks and medina. As you move through the labyrinth of narrow alleyways, take in the renowned colorful and aromatic Souks of Marrakech and get ready for shopping. Each trade spices, carpets, jewelry, enamel, copper, brass, wood-is situated in its quarter. You might see villagers bringing in their handmade rugs to sell to merchants, or you might observe artisans hand tooling crafts as they have done for centuries.

Visit the14th-century Ben Youssef Mederssa which is one of the most beautiful buildings in Marrakech, and once housed the Islamic equivalent of a monastery. The 11th-century Almoravides Koubba and the Marrakech Museum of Contemporary Art are also here.

Day 3: the Gardens Tour:

When yu are ready ,explore Marrakech gardens and parks which are just as important to the city as its medieval monuments and palaces. The city inspires artists, designers and scholars thanks to its history, culture and environment. Discover this fascinating side of this glamorous city.

 

First start your tour with a visit to Dar Si Said museum (closed on Tuesdays) and discover this aristocratic home of the 19th century. This is the best introduction to Marrakech traditional arts and what the skillful artisans could create in the past and managed to pass on to the following generations. Then, head to visit of the 12th century  Menara Garden and admire its 12th century reservoir. Proceed to the new city to visit the tropical Majorelle Gardens, lovingly restored under the patronage of the late Yves St.Laurent.

Take your time in the famous garden created by the orientalist painter Jacques Majorelle. The Majorelle Garden houses a collection of plants from the four corners of the earth flourishing among elegant ornamental ponds and an Art Deco villa of which the special shade of bold cobalt blue is named after the artist, the Majorelle blue.

The garden hosts more than 15 bird species that are endemic to North Africa and has an amazing collection of cacti. Since 1980 the garden had been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent.

There is a nice terrace restaurant inside the gardens that serves snacks and light meals and where you may want to stop and have lunch.

 

The Majorelle Garden also houses  a beautifully designed Berber museum displaying Yves Saint Laurent’s personal collection of Berber antiques. Here you can learn some fascinating facts about the Berbers of Morocco and admire this marvelous treasure of local antiques that Yves Saint Laurent owned.

Before headind back to your hotel,if you want drive through the luxuriant palm groves of Marrakech.

Day 4: Excursion to Agafay Desert:

This morning, you will Leave the bustling city of Marrakech behind and drive south toward Lake Lalla Takerkoust dam to enjoy the scenery that the lake offers for great photos with the Majestic High Atlas Mountains in the background. From there, you will go in a rally of 1 hour through the desert of Agafay (rocky desert). Admire the landscape change as you move through rural farmland into the Agafay desert. Pass by a number of villages spread across the area and learn how the traditions of Berber life continue today.

Once you reach the Agafay desert, you’ll meet with your camels waiting for you to climb. From there you continue to your restaurant for an authentic lunch under Nomadic tents

Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this arid desert before you return back to your hotel in Marrakesh in the evening.

Day 5 Trekking in the High Atlas- a Day with the Berbers:

Today you will have an excursion into the breathtaking High Atlas Mountains to have a day with the Berbers. They are the native inhabitants of Morocco and known for their hospitality.

Enjoy this beautiful rural landscape of the Majestic High Atlas Mountains. Here, earthen Berber villages lay terraced into the mountains. Their flat, baked-mud roofs nestle against the fertile slopes.

Begin your day at the Berber village of Ghmat.  Here you will find a weekly souk. Such markets, which travel from village to village, are still the mainstay of rural Morocco, where most of the country’s population still lives. Once at the Market, explore its different sections like the vegetables' market, the butchers ‘market, and the barbers as well as the crafts' sections where blacksmiths, potters, carpenters are working and don’t miss the donkeys’ parking!

Then meet your mountain guide and set out on a trek up on foot to the Berber villages. Enjoy these series of dramatic landscapes and Berber houses while hiking in this area. If you want you can visit a Berber house and enjoy the mint tea ceremony and learn about the local culture. The local Berber inhabitants live a way of life that has hardly changed in centuries.

If you want, we can prepare for you a Picnic lunch at a Secret Spot in Morocco’s Ourika Valley with breathtaking views of the Valley and the Majestic High Atlas mountains.

Day 6: Marrakesh- Departure

After having breakfast at your hotel, you will be escorted to Marrakech’s Menara Airport for your departing flight.

You will receive VIP treatment to assist you in avoiding any unnecessary delays.
