Marrakech gardens and parks are just as important to the city as its medieval monuments and palaces. The city inspires artists, designers and scholars thanks to its history, culture and environment. We invite you to discover this fascinating side of our glamorous city.
We start this tour with a visit to Dar Si Said museum (closed on Tuesdays) and
discover this aristocratic home of the 19th century. This is the best introduction to Marrakech traditional arts and what the skillful artisans could create in the past and managed to pass on to the following generations. Then,we head to visit of the 12th century Menara Garden and admire its 12th century reservoir.
Then visit the tropical Majorelle Gardens, lovingly restored under the patronage of the late Yves St.Laurent. Take your time in the famous garden created by the orientalist painter Jacques Majorelle. The Majorelle Garden houses a collection of plants from the four corners of the earth flourishing among elegant ornamental ponds and an Art Deco villa of which the special shade of bold cobalt blue is named after the artist, the Majorelle blue. The garden hosts more than 15 bird species that are endemic to North Africa and has an amazing collection of cacti. Since 1980 the garden has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent.
There is a nice terrace restaurant inside the gardens that serves snacks and light meals and where you may want to stop and have lunch.
The Majorelle Garden also houses a beautifully designed Berber museum displaying Yves Saint Laurent’s personal collection of Berber antiques. Here you can learn some fascinating facts about the Berbers of Morocco and admire this marvelous treasure of local antiques that Yves Saint Laurent owned. Before heading back to your hotel,We will then drive through the luxuriant palm groves of Marrakech.
